White House Denounces 'Democratic Hoax' as Additional Jeffrey Epstein Images Made Public
Democratic lawmakers have published a new tranche of what they described as "troubling" images from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 photographs—some of which have been seen before—combined with another 70 issued later on Friday represent a small number of the almost 100,000 images handed over to the House investigative panel, which is examining the actions and ties of Epstein.
The disgraced financier died by an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being accused of sex-trafficking offenses.
Prominent Personalities in the Images
Featured among the notable figures shown in the initial batch are public figures such as film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is photographed with six women, whose faces are obscured.
Administration Reaction
The White House reacted to the release in a official comment, alleging Democrats of purposefully "choosing" the pictures for electoral motives and to "seek to establish a false storyline."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a White House spokesperson remarked, insisting that "the Trump administration has done more for Epstein's victims than Democrats ever have by frequently urging transparency, making public numerous documents of records, and demanding more inquiries into Epstein's liberal connections."
Congressional Democrat Statement
The images were published devoid of explanation, but per a California Democrat and ranking member of the oversight committee, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's connections to affluent people.
"It is time to stop this White House cover-up and deliver justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he said in a statement.
The release of these materials comes as the House panel proceeding with its investigation into the affair.
